Station Snapshot – K1MGH

Welcome to another edition of Station Snapshot. After a bit of a break, we’re back with a visit to the station of Dick (K1MGH) of Cape Cod, MA.

Dick shares that he has a brand new iMac to replace the MacBook Air he’s been using for some time. He’s still in the process of getting it setup, but it is already in the heart of his station.

Dick writes that his station includes “an Icom 9100 and a 746 Pro, Tokyo HP 550 watt amp, LDG 600 tuner, and a dbx audio preamp/compressor with a Behringer studio mic.” Continuing on, Dick also shares “The Davis weather station on the wall is linked to the small PC running Virtual Weather Station and it uploads to my weather web site and Wundermap. I don’t use that PC for anything else other than weather…too many conflicts with other com devices. Antennas include a 75M dipole that I use for the New England Weather Net every morning at 5:30AM on 3.905 (I’m the net manager); a 43 foot vertical for 10 to 40M, and a Tennadyne log periodic for DX on 10 to 20M with a rotator.”

Dick wraps up with “There are two other desks in the shack, one for my MacBookAir and one for the Dell PC I was using for HRD before I bought the iMac. I need that for Microsoft Office for my club’s Access database and newsletter I publich on Publisher.”

Thank you, Dick, for sharing details of your station with us. I really enjoyed the picture; especially vessel model and the brass ship’s clock above your rigs. A nice touch of nautical influence in the shack.
