Introducing Without Wire – MacOS utility to stream audio from the Icom IC-705, IC-7610 and IC-9700.

Tom, DL2RUM has announced that Without Wire version 1.1 is now available for free download.

Without Wire sits in the middle between an Icom transceiver and an other applications distributing CAT and audio data from and to the transceiver. It was successfully tested with the models IC-705, IC-7610 and IC-9700. Audio can be streamed from the main or the sub receiver on the IC-7610 and IC-9700.

You can establish a connection to the Icom IC-7610 or IC-9700 over your LAN, or via  WLAN or Bluetooth LE to the IC-705.  Using Bluetooth LE this app supports CAT data exchange only, you can use other applications for audio transfer. The IC-705 doesn’t provide scope data over the bluetooth port, but a Bluetooth LE connection saves ca. 45 mA current draw in the 705 compared to WLAN.

CAT data is also made available for other applications via a TCP/IP server, tested with RUMlog and WSJT-X. Audio can be routed to other devices using virtual sound cards like Sunflower or BlackHole.
